Purpose

Rad/Comm Systems Corp. is a privately owned Canadian company specializing in the design, manufacture and servicing of highly sensitive radiation detection systems. The objective of this project is to demonstrate in principle non-traditional methods of analyzing Sodium Iodide crystal detector data that will significantly shorten scan times and decrease detector scintillator volumes, while maintaining current performance. If statistical algorithms could be developed that decrease scan times and scintillation detector volumes, the affordability and performance of detection systems would increase drastically. Markets that currently would not pay for these type of detector panels, could now be interested in implementing the new technology
