Purpose
This project seeks to enhance simulations of strongly correlated quantum systems by devising techniques to reduce the necessary quantum resources. This helps make them more feasible on near-term quantum computers. The endeavour encompasses identifying relevant target systems, quantifying qubit counts, circuit depths, and other essential resources for simulation, and applying entanglement reduction methods to simplify simulations while preserving crucial properties. The aim is to offer insights into practical requirements for valuable quantum simulations in materials science, quantum chemistry, and related fields. If successful, the quantum resource quantification and entanglement reduction techniques could significantly expedite discovery and innovation in domains dependent on modelling the quantum properties of matter
