Purpose
This project addresses current gaps in the delivery of virtual care in cardiac rehabilitation (VCR) as identified in the literature. Gaps include: the availability and accessibility of home and telehealth based interventions, including VCR technologies tailored to the needs of older adults, a lack of human-centered design, human-computer interaction, and human factors research in designing health applications for older adults, and a lack of involvement of older adults and healthcare providers in the design of technology solutions. Our project aims to address these gaps by involving patients and healthcare professionals in the codesign of tools and systems from the onset, in order to better address their needs and preferences and to encourage greater uptake of cardiac rehabilitation and technology adoption.
