Purpose

The firm intends to enable customer self-installation of fixed wireless access Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) by wirelessly powering an on-window device using a proprietary wireless power hardware module. This eliminates cabling and reduces truck rolls for installation and maintenance, lowering costs and environmental impact. The firm's approach improves base-station utilization, reducing infrastructure costs while increasing network efficiency. Alongside development of the wireless power module and evaluation of multiple power and data form factors, they will explore intelligent in-CPE and cloud-based analytics to enable proactive issue detection and faster corrective actions. Greater adoption of outdoor CPE improves network capacity, reliability, and scalability for more efficient connectivity.
