Purpose
MultiAcT will develop an unmanned aerial vehicle system (UAS) (drone and software) and robots, for the accurate and fast identification and location of defects in aircraft composite structures by non-contact means using active thermography. Université Laval will work closely with Cranfield University in the active thermography and defect detection development (WP2). The Recipient will undertake the evaluation of the different thermography and visual methods for composites, and improve the classification technique (complex images). The Recipient will support the algorithm selection and testing with BI Expertise (WP5). Finally, the Recipient will be extensively involved in the field validation testing of the UAS both on the und and in the air (WP7).
