Purpose
This project will develop a new adaptive environmental routing model that minimizes vessel fuel consumption and distance travelled while accounting for seakeeping performances in all conditions. This work will draw upon satellite automatic identification system (S-AIS) data together with environmental data harvested by satellites to develop and integrate a coherent model that incorporates how environmental conditions affect vessel routing.
