Purpose

This project developed a community-based safer supply model in rural and regional British Columbia. This model provided pharmaceutical alternatives to the toxic drug supply and enhanced community care and social supports. The initial focus was on the delivery of a fentanyl patch program to participants at high risk of opioid overdose across Campbell River, the Comox Valley and Port Hardy for whom current harm reduction and treatment interventions were inadequate or inaccessible.
