Purpose

October 2023 - In response to urgent and growing humanitarian needs in Gaza, the West Bank and neighbouring areas, Global Affairs Canada contributes to the Canadian Red Cross Society’s Middle East Humanitarian Crisis appeal. With Global Affairs Canada’s support, the Canadian Red Cross Society supports the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the Middle East to alleviate suffering and provide humanitarian assistance for people affected by the ongoing and escalating crisis. Project activities include: (1) supporting the delivery of emergency medical and health services; (2) providing mental health and psychosocial support; and (3) distributing water, hygiene kits, food supplies, and non-food items.
