The project aims to build the capacities of border control, customs, criminal justice officials, and legislators. The project will contribute to the enhancement of national legislative, strategic, and operational capacities of the Central Asian countries to properly prevent, detect, and counter the firearms trafficking and consequently the associated activities of terrorism and organized crime. Through its regional component, the project contributes to a higher level of cooperation and cohesion in addressing firearms trafficking and related issues.
