Purpose
The United Nations Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Colombia (MPTF) was launched in 2016 to support the implementation of the Peace Accord between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia . civil society, multilateral organizations, and government authorities delivers projects funded by the MPTF. Canadian funding aims to support the following MPTF thematic programming priorities: (1) stabilization: strengthening state presence and capacity in municipalities most impacted by the conflict to bring the state to areas where it has been historically absent, reduce inequalities, and strengthen security; (2) victims and transitional justice: supporting the authorities in providing collective reparation for victims by increasing knowledge and capacities to address the differential impacts that the conflict has had on victims due to gender, age, and ethnicity; and (3) communications: communicating effectively continually on the advances made in implementing the agreement to counter destabilizing messages and promote a culture of peace and reconciliation.
