Purpose
This project supports the Organization of American States’ Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia (MAPP) in carrying out its mandate to observe, report on, and support peacebuilding in Colombia. Project activities include: (1) monitoring, reporting on and providing recommendations to authorities on the conflict dynamics in the territories in which the MAPP operates, and the impact of conflict on local communities, including ethnic communities, women and girls; (2) providing accompaniment to state and civil society-led peacebuilding activities related to truth and reparations, victim participation (including through a different lens that includes women), land restitution, accountability/judicial matters and detainees; (3) facilitating coordination between peacebuilding stakeholders, including rural, conflict-affected communities and the state, and (4) supporting the Truth Commission in promoting culturally appropriate activities for ethnic women in the context of the Truth Commission’s mandate.
