Purpose

P002934001: The project aims to improve the sexual and reproductive health and nutritional status of adolescents, particularly adolescent girls. The project includes activities to support the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education in improving access to quality adolescent-specific reproductive health and nutrition knowledge and services within the health systems, schools and communities in food-insecure districts of Ethiopia. Project activities include: (1) training health workers to provide greater adolescent-friendly sexual and reproductive health and nutrition services; (2) providing iron folate supplements to adolescent girls and biannual de-worming services to adolescents in and out-of-school; (3) establishing adolescent-friendly spaces within communities to reach out-of-school adolescent girls on nutrition and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) practices and services; and (4) upgrading and rehabilitating girl-friendly sanitary facilities in schools. The project aims to reach 4,000,000 adolescents, mostly adolescent girls.
