The University of Calgary, in partnership with Curtin University campuses in Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore, proposes a transdisciplinary scholarship program focused on sustainable and regenerative urban development in the Indo-Pacific. This project proposes three cohorts of 15 Graduate Scholars. Over six weeks, Canadian graduate students will engage in intensive study and fieldwork across three countries, exploring circular systems and nature-based solutions to urban challenges such as water, energy, and mobility. Potential areas of focus include regenerative urban futures and sustainable industrial development, designing sustainable and regenerative futures in the Indo-Pacific, and developing green 'bridges' to understand Canada's role and capabilities in contributing to a sustainable and regenerative futures for the Indo-Pacific region. Supported by two faculty fellows, participants will collaborate on team projects that integrate systems thinking and regional context, culminating in published policy proposals.
