Purpose
This project seeks to support the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) primary data collection program, which helps track and monitor displacement and population mobility, provide critical information to decision-makers and responders during humanitarian crises, and deepen understanding of population flows around the world. The project will target the following countries: Myanmar, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ukraine, Yemen, and South Sudan. The list of countries identified aligns with IOM’s assessment of where DTM needs are most critical and where funding can have the greatest impact. The list of countries was also consulted with OCHA. The proposed allocation will enable IOM’s DTM to strengthen its capacity for comprehensive data collection and in-depth analysis on displacement. This investment will generate timely, reliable, and actionable information for decision-makers, enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian planning and response. The allocation will contribute to saving lives, reducing suffering, and safeguarding human dignity in countries affected by crises by improving evidence-based prioritization of resources, particularly for donors.
