Purpose
This project seeks to reduce the threat to global populations of a nuclear and radiological security event. It focuses on promoting the implementation of legal frameworks and developing human resource capabilities in the nuclear security sector. Project activities include: (1) organizing workshops and meetings to promote and support the implementation of the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material; (2) providing physical protection and radiation detection equipment to two Nuclear Security Support Centres; and (3) organizing expert missions and training workshops on nuclear security related human resource development.
