Purpose

This multi-year project will lead to systemic change through the development of protocols to serve clients with mental health needs. Southern Chief’s Organization (SCO) will work with mainstream justice system partners to identify and raise awareness about barriers to successful outcomes for Indigenous offenders. SCO represents 34 southern First Nation communities in Manitoba, the project will be working directly with seven first nation communities and will also benefit First Nation citizens in nearby First Nation communities and non-First Nation communities.
