Purpose
The Southern Chiefs Organisation, through its Community Healing Program will create 20 healing circles to provide support and healing in their First Nation communities for families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. An experienced Healing Program coordinator will work with others to identify a respected community member who can facilitate the circles that are culturally-based and trauma-informed. Elders will be available for support at each healing circle and will provide cultural teachings. The coordinator and community facilitator will seek out partnerships with local resources who have areas of expertise in regards to healing that can participate as guests, sponsors, and/or victims supports throughout the year.
