Purpose
The project involves the expansion of the Jane Street Bridge. The existing crossing is undersized and has insufficient capacity often resulting in Black Creek flooding upstream of Jane Street during storm events. Based on the information provided by the City of Toronto, the expansion and upgrades to the existing Jane Street infrastructure will help protect homes and businesses from future flooding. The Jane Bridge expansion is expected to increase the resilience of the Rockcliffe community and spare it from the effects of climate change, extreme weather events and the associated riverine flood risk. The project would begin construction in 2024 and end in 2026.
