Purpose
A new building in Eskasoni, NS to house the Institute of Natural Resources (UINR) and the Mi’kmwqaq Environmental Learning Center (MELC). UINR works to build a deep understanding of the natural world and the human place within it. The goals of MELC are to collect and preserve traditional Mi’kmaq knowledge on environmental sustainability, create and deliver educational programs to promote and share Mi’kmaq traditional knowledge.
