Purpose
This research proposal is part of a larger project: the Green Edge project, which aims at determining the impact of climate change on the spring bloom of phytoplankton and the marine ecosystem of the Arctic Ocean. This project proposes the development of new approaches to monitor the marine ecosystems and their relationship with the environmental conditions in a changing Arctic Ocean using space-based EO technologies. This project would provide sound basis for the deployment of future potential microsatellite missions using ocean-colour sensors such as WATERSAT.
