Following the JWST ERS and Cycle 1 GO Announcement of Opportunity published on June 14, 2021, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct research using the JWST. The project will obtain the first spatially resolved, high spectral resolution IR observations of the Orion Bar using NIRCam, NIRSpec, and MIRI. It will probe the response of gas and dust, including large carbonaceous molecules, to the penetrating stellar photons on a physical scale relevant to the physical and chemical processes.
