Purpose

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to: • Enable researchers to rapidly generate interdisciplinary, high-quality and real-time evidence that can enhance Canada’s response related to the current outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1); • Support cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary research collaborations that can support One Health* approaches to sustainably prevent, prepare for, and respond to the current outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1); • Support rapid mobilization of evidence to support knowledge users including policy-makers, clinicians, public health organizations, animal health professionals, representatives from agricultural sectors, wildlife conservation organizations, and local communities, including Indigenous communities, where relevant.
